Handicaped door hardware

There are many types of hardware that allow our doors to function correctly. First there are the many types of lock Hardware. These pieces of door hardware make sure that the doors actually are secure. Whether it be a panic bar a commercial lever handle for a vertical Rod Panic device all of these parts secure the door. As you can imagine if any of these parts fail your security will fail as well.

However there are also other types of door hardware that are essential in keeping your door secure such as door closers, alarming Panic devices and door alarms that trigger when a door is opened that play an important part in your security. Door alarms are put in place to make Personnel aware of when someone is trying to exit wrongfully. These alarms can make Personnel aware of either theft or emergency situations.

Door closers can be an extremely important part of any Exit Plan for any business. When they’re installed correctly it allows occupants to freely exit buildings even when in a wheelchair. Panic bars are made so that even someone in a wheelchair can push against the door and gain access to the outside and freely egress these devices work in parallel with door closers so that just the right amount of pressure closes the door but not so much that it traps the occupant. Door closers are set with exactly the right pressure so that they can be pushed open even by someone that is handicapped.

Lever locks are designed so that even people with limited Mobility can depress the lever and gain access to the outside of a establishment.
