There are many types of hardware that allow our doors to function correctly. First there are the many types of lock Hardware. Panic bars are made so that even someone in a wheelchair can push against the door and gain access to the outside and freely egress these devices work in parallel with door closers so that just the right amount of pressure closes the door but not so much that it traps the occupant. Door closers are set with exactly the right pressure so that they can be pushed open even by someone that is handicapped.
Lever locks are designed so that even people with limited Mobility can depress the lever and gain access to the outside of a establishment.
