Those welds will not hold firmly in place; they may weaken and break. When this happens a lot of door companies will just simply replace the entire door, which can mean thousands. We repair this very common problem by installing what is called a full surface continuous hinge. Some people call these piano hinges that we install on the door. This not only repairs the door, but restores the door to a condition superior to its original installation.
